Coalition Members

Joining forces to stop the spread of resistant pigweed

Each member of the coalition brings with them a breadth of expertise in battling resistant pigweed on farm. These subject matter experts share timely insights and uncover opportunities across Mechanical and cultural, Chemical and Trait, and Eradication Dilligence practices for consideration with the goal of eliminating problem pigweed species on farm.

BASF

At BASF, we create chemistry for a sustainable future. We are constantly striving to combine economic success with environmental protection and social responsibility. Through science and innovation, we enable farmers to meet the current and future needs of society. We launched Operation Weed Eradication, an industry-wide mission, to enlist tough-minded farmers and industry leaders to take on the eradication mindset that the last weed standing is likely the strongest, most capable and the most genetically resistant weed on the farm. Our goal is to alleviate over-reliance solely on chemistry alone by advocating for a holistic approach to the longevity of weed control options available to our farmers to date. So you can ensure the profitability, longevity and sustainability of your farming operation. Because your farm is the future.

AGCO

AGCO has made it our mission to help farmers explore and implement mechanical efforts to control herbicide resistant weeds including Palmer amaranth and waterhemp. By working closely with farmers, we’ve realized that a victory over pigweeds is going to take a collaborative effort from the entire industry. Now we’re joining forces with BASF and other organizations in Operation Weed Eradication. We play a critical role in the coalition by developing innovative weed control machinery including industry-leading application and tillage equipment that improves efficacy and efficiency as part of a holistic approach to stopping the threat of pigweeds for our farmers and our food supply.

Raven

Raven is committed to raising the bar to improve farm productivity. For the past 40 years, Raven has sought ways to improve sprayer efficacy and our participation in the Operation Weed Eradication reflects our ongoing investment in continued growth. Every time a machine enters a field to perform an agronomic operation we have an opportunity to precisely control the machine to maximize the outcome for efficiency, efficacy and outcome. By ensuring the right rate, at the right location with the right delivery, we can reduce resistance and control the spread of noxious weeds like pigweed.
